When it comes to working with a copywriter for hire, people often don’t know what to expect. (Is it going to break the bank? How can you write about my business if you’re not a part of it? Are you some sort of mythical creature who has pencils for fingers?) Today, then, I’m breaking down all there is to know about my process, services, and—yes—what in the heck I charge. Read on for all you need to know about hiring a creative copywriter to bring your content dreams to brand-building fruition.

You can find a detailed outline of my fees on my copywriting services page. To give you a quick, at-a-glance overview:
A basic 4-page website begins around $4,500 and can increase based on word-count needs or additions of short introductions for those “bonus” pages (think: portfolio and contact). Brand Voide Guides begin at $1,350. A naming brainstorm project (coming up with a long list of names for you to choose from for your product, brand, service, podcast, or publication) is charged at $200 per hour, with a minimum of 5 hours required to book. Blog packages are charged as follows:
> 3 posts, up to 500 words each: $750
> 3 posts, up to 1,000 words each: $1,500
> 6 posts, up to 500 words each: $1,200
> 6 posts, up to 1,000 words each: $2,400
Every project is different, so we start with an initial 30-minute consultation to learn about your struggles, stressors, and how we can best support you through copy. From there, we develop an easy-to-understand project estimate based on your needs and budget. If you decide to hire GG Copywriting, we’ll firm up a deadline and list of deliverables before I send over a contract and an insightful intake questionnaire.
Of course! Helping a client hone her brand voice is one of my favorite things to do. I offer Brand Voice and Messaging Guides for clients who need to nail down their voice—these are foundational strategy documents that outline your brand voice, brand words, tone, and pillars. With everything from content samples to stylistic guidelines included, these guides work as a time-saving tool you—or anyone writing on behalf of your brand—can reference time and time again. Brand Voice Guides start at a rate of $1,350 and are one of my most popular copywriting services.
First rodeo? Yee-haw! I don’t expect any of my clients to be marketing pros—in fact, because I work with budding wedding businesses and female solopreneurs, for many of my clients, GG Copywriting is their team’s first and only outsourced contractor. I’m happy to work with those who are green to copywriting and marketing—and am always willing to answer any questions you have along the way to ensure you’re comfortable with the process and happy with the final product.
If you’re just starting out, some foundational copywriting services to consider include: a Brand Voice & Messaging Guide, website copy, an email campaign, and a package of blog posts.
They do! I can either work with the SEO keywords you provide me or our in-house content strategist, the brilliant Tayler, can come up with a detailed SEO plan to ensure your copy not only sings to your dream clients, but speaks to Google.
While my copywriting services are mainly limited to the copy-and-content arena, I do have other industry pros who I work with regularly and love to recommend for things like marketing direction, SEO plans, photography, and graphic design. Feel free to let me know if you need recommendations in other arenas, and I’ll do my best to recommend pros who I know and trust. Some of my favorite designers include:
Some of the advertising agencies and businesses I work with like to list me on their website as part of their team. While I’m always grateful to clients who refer me to others (it’s how I eat, after all), I ask that clients only include me on their website as their copywriter if we work together on a regular retainer basis and if we’ve agreed to this in advance.
